Upgrade Readiness Index
The Upgrade Insights card appears on the Customer dashboard and Appliance dashboard.
Customer dashboard
On this card, current status of all your registered appliance is displayed in a line chart, along with number of appliances in each category. All appliances are divided in following categories:
Status | Description |
---|---|
Up to Date | Appliances are running on the latest version |
In Progress | Upgrade in progress |
Ready for Upgrade | Appliances that can be upgraded |
Not ready for upgrade | Appliances which can't be upgraded |
Unsupported | Appliances running on unsupported version |
Unavailable | The appliance upgrade readiness status is unavailable. |
Unavailable status can appear due to multiple reasons. Refer to the following table to know about the issue and steps to resolve it:
Issue | Resolution |

Insufficient information for determining the upgrade readiness status. | Wait for 24 hours for the status to update. If there's no update after that, contact Veritas Technical Support for assistance. |
The healthMaintenance plugin add-on package is not installed on the appliance. | Download and install the package by clicking the link on the page. |
The healthMaintenance plugin is not working properly. | Contact Veritas Technical Support. |
AURA version {source_aura_version} installed on the appliance is not the latest version | Upgrade to {target_aura_version}. Click the link on the page to download. |

The card also consists of Appliance family drop-down. NetBackup is selected by default, which is the only supported appliance family currently. Support for the rest of the appliance families will be coming soon.
Once you click any status bar and the Y axis label, you will be redirected to the Upgrade Center tab for more details.
There are four filters on the Upgrade Center tab. Appliance Family, Upgrade Readiness, Current Version and Appliance Model. In the Upgrade Readiness Status filter, there are multiple options available and all are selected by default. You can uncheck the boxes as per your requirements. Similarly, you can select options from other drop-downs and filter the list. The columns UID, Appliance Family, Appliance Model, Current Version, Target Version, Upgrade Readiness and Predicted Upgrade Time furnish all the required information about the appliances. You can visualize and decide about the upgrade schedule. Every row in this table is expandable and it has separate layout for standalone and HA appliances and there is a Search bar at the top of the table. You can search by appliance family, version and so on.
On the Appliance dashboard, Upgrade Insights card appears has only two views. If the appliance status is up to date or ready for upgrade, the card shows upgrade status only. If the appliance status is in not ready for upgrade, unsupported or unavailable, the card will show recommendations as shown in the figure below.
