Database Sources dialog
From the Database Sources window, you can do the following actions:
Add a database source that you want to ingest to Velocity.
Ingest a database source.
Update a previously ingested database source with another ingest.
Sort or search database sources that have been added to Velocity.
Delete a database source.
You can view only the database sources for which your assigned role has privileges.
See Role-based access control.
The following options are available to manage database sources:
Table: Database sources in Velocity
Item | Description |
---|---|
Total | Displays the number of database sources that were added to Velocity. Although the information about the database is added, the databases may not be ingested yet. |
Sort By | Displays a list of filters that you can use to sort the databases that are added into Velocity. |
+ | Lets you add a database source that you want to ingest into Velocity. |
Search | Lets you type search criteria to find a database source that has been added to Velocity. |
Database Sources | Displays the following information about a database source that has been added to Velocity:
|
Details | Lists the details of the database source. |
Ingest | Runs a full backup of the database if the database has not been ingested into Velocity before. For Oracle databases, after the initial full ingest, all subsequent ingests are incremental backups. For SQL Server databases, after the initial full copy-only backup, all subsequent ingests are also full copy-only backups. |
Veritas NetBackup | Indicates that NetBackup was used to ingest the database source. |
Cancel | Lets you cancel a running ingest operation. |
Delete | Deletes the database source from Velocity. The existing database copies and the sandboxes that use the database copies are not deleted. To ingest the database into Velocity at a later time, you can add the database information again. |
