Ingesting an Oracle database again after the first ingest

Note:

This topic applies only to ingesting an Oracle database source by using Velocity. You can also ingest databases by using the NetBackup method.

After the first ingest process is complete, you can add more copies of the ingested database to Velocity at any time. You can run an incremental ingest, or run a full ingest again.

Customizing the database ingestion

Before you ingest a database, review the following options for customizing the ingestion:

To create a custom parameter file to control the startup behavior of a sandbox	See About setting custom initialization parameters for a sandbox for an Oracle database copy.
To customize the `ingest_dba` application for your environment or for a specific ingestion	See Editing default options for the ingest method for Oracle databases.

To ingest an Oracle database again after the first ingest

From the Velocity Cloud Console, in the left pane, click Database Sources.
On the Database Sources dialog, on the row for the database source that you want to ingest, click Ingest.

Do one of the following:

To run a full ingest of a database that has already been ingested	Click the down arrow next to the Ingest button, and then click Full.
To run an incremental ingest of a database that has already been ingested	Click Ingest.
To view or edit details of the database, and then ingest the database	Click Details, and review or edit the database information. Then click Ingest, or click the down arrow next to the Ingest button, and click Incremental or Full.

After the database is successfully ingested, you can do any of the following:

Assign roles and permissions

Create a sandbox
