About Velocity physical appliance storage

The Veritas Velocity 7330 Appliance must be connected to the Primary Storage Shelf. The 7330 appliance (base unit) does not have internal disk space available for Velocity storage. Only the space available on the Primary Storage Shelf can be used for Velocity data.

The physical disk storage in the storage shelf is configured into six data volumes and one VPFS Catalog volume. The Velocity appliance configures the volumes into the following partitions:

  • Configuration

  • Unallocated

  • VPFS

  • VPFS Catalog
