How to upgrade to Velocity version 2.8
Velocity version 2.8 includes many new features that are available only if you upgrade.

Upgrade process | More information |
---|---|
1. Find the version number that is currently installed. | See Finding the Velocity Storage Server and Velocity Client version numbers. |
2. Download and transfer the required software updates to your Velocity Storage Server. | See Downloading and transferring software updates to the Velocity Storage Server. |
3. Remove any previous upgrade files. For example, if you upgraded to version 2.8, you must remove those upgrade files before you can upgrade to version 2.9. | |
4. Run the chkconfig command. | Do the following:

5. Restart the physical appliance. If you use the Velocity physical appliance as your Velocity Storage Server and it has not been restarted in the last 14 days, you must restart it before you can upgrade to the new version. This step does not apply if you use a virtual machine as a Velocity Storage Server. | See Support > Reboot . |
