How to configure users and roles in Velocity
Velocity uses role-based access control to grant users privileges to perform tasks. Before users can perform tasks in Velocity, the Velocity administrator or database administrator must add them in the Veritas Application Portal and then assign them to roles in Velocity. The role allows users to access specific database sources and create sandboxes, for example.
Note:
At least one database must be ingested into Velocity before you can assign roles to access the database source.
Follow these steps to create Velocity users and assign them to roles.
Table: How to create users and assign them to roles
Step | Task | More Information |
---|---|---|
Step 1 | Add users in Veritas Application Portal. | See Adding users. |
Step 2 | Consider the level of access that you want to grant to each user. | |
Step 3 | Create roles and assign one or more database sources to each role. You can also assign users to roles when you create them. | See Adding roles. |
