Viewing details of a SQL Server database source
You can view the details of a SQL Server database source that you added to Velocity. If the database source is not yet ingested, some details may not be available.
To view details of a SQL Server database source
- From the Velocity Cloud Console, in the left pane, click Database Sources.
- Select the row that the database appears on, and then click Details.
- View the following information:
Table: SQL Server Database Source Details
Item | Description |
---|---|
Database Name | Displays the name of the database source that you selected to ingest into Velocity. If you entered a nickname, it displays in parentheses. You can edit the nickname. See Changing the nickname or description of a database source. |
Owner | Displays the name and the email address of the person who added this database source to Velocity. |
Latest Copy | Displays one of the following:
|
Description | Displays a description that was entered when the database source was added to Velocity. You can edit the description. See Changing the nickname or description of a database source. |
Table: Velocity Storage Server Details
Item | Description |
---|---|
Velocity Storage Server | Displays the hostname or IP address of the Velocity Storage Server that stores the ingested copies of the database source. |
CIFS Export Path | Displays the location on the Velocity Storage Server where the ingested copies of the database source are stored. |
CIFS Share Name | Displays the name of the share that is created on the Velocity Storage Server. The CIFS share enables network access to the CIFS export path location. |
Managed By | Displays the product that ingested the database source. |

Item | Description |

Source Host | Displays the host server of the SQL Server database. |
Database Version | Displays the version of the database on the host server of the database. |
UNC Path | Displays the UNC share path where the database files are stored on the host server of the SQL Server database. |
Size | Displays the size of the database on the host server of the SQL Server database. |
