About the Velocity Storage Server administration interfaces
The Veritas Velocity Storage Server can be administered with multiple user interfaces.
Table: Velocity Appliance administration interfaces
Interface | Description |
---|---|
Velocity shell menu | The Velocity shell menu is the interface that you use to configure, manage, and monitor the storage server software, as well as the physical appliance hardware. The Velocity shell menu is hosted on the storage server, and is accessed locally or remotely using the following methods:
*Physical appliance only Common tasks to do in the Velocity shell menu include:
|
Velocity Cloud Console | The Velocity Cloud Console is the primary interface for Velocity and is used to administer the Velocity software on the storage server, such as ingesting databases and creating sandboxes. Once you connect (register) the storage server with the Velocity Cloud Service, you can start using the Velocity Cloud Console to move data onto the storage server. |
Veritas Remote Management Console (physical appliance only) | The Veritas Remote Management Console provides management and monitoring capabilities independent of the appliance CPU, firmware, and operating system. This console is accessible through the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) network port on the back of the Velocity Appliance. For the best support and initial configuration experience, Veritas recommends that you configure the IPMI port and make it accessible on your network. You can use the Veritas Remote Management Console for the following:
