Database administrator's checklist for setting up Veritas Velocity
The database administrator must perform the following steps to configure Velocity.
Table: Database administrator's setup checklist
Step | Action |
---|---|
1. | Ensure that the Velocity Client is installed and registered on the database server. See the Velocity administrator for assistance. |
2. | Add a database source to Velocity, and then ingest the database source to Velocity. Before you ingest a database source, you should have the following information ready:
|
3. | Use the Veritas Application Portal to invite test and development users to Velocity. It might be helpful to have a list of users and their email addresses ready before you begin. Then, in the Velocity Cloud Console, create a new role that lets the users have access to the database source so that they can create sandboxes from the database copies. Alternatively, you can assign the database source to an existing role. Any sandbox users that are assigned to that role inherit permission to access the new database source. Note: After users are added to the Veritas Application Portal, they do not appear on the Users dialog until after they sign in to Velocity. See Adding roles. See Changing the database sources that are assigned to a role. |
