DESCRIPTION
Note:
This command only applies to the Veritas Velocity physical appliance.
This command exists under the Main_Menu > Support view. You can use this command to reset the appliance to the factory default settings. If you had changed the initial password to something else and you run this command, your password is reset to the initial default value.
OPTIONS
- FactoryReset
Use this command to reset the appliance to the factory default settings.
- FactoryReset ResetAll
Use this command to reset the appliance factory installed image in non-interactive mode.
EXAMPLES
The following is an example output when you run the FactoryReset command.

The following components are reset to a factory state: - Appliance operating system - Appliance software - Velocity software - Storage configuration and backup data - (Optional) Networking configuration - [Info] Get cloud registry status... Select networking configuration reset [Optional] - Removes the IP and routing configuration. - Removes the DNS configuration. Note: If you reset the network configuration, you may lose the ability to remotely access the appliance over IP. Once the factory reset is complete, you can connect to the appliance either directly or remotely using the IPMI interface. >> Do you want to reset the network configuration as part of the factory reset? [yes, no](yes) yes - [Warning] All network shares will unmount when the appliance restarts, including: - Backup destinations that are mounted on source hosts - Sandboxes that are mounted by sandbox users You should notify all Velocity users that they need to complete their work on the Velocity Storage Server before the appliance restarts. Any remaining client read/write operations on the shares may become unresponsive. Once the appliance finishes restarting, the Velocity users can safely remount the shares. >> A system restart is required to complete the factory reset.
