Name
Main > Support > Maintenance — Lets you log into the appliance maintenance shell as the Maintenance user.
DESCRIPTION
The appliance is preconfigured with a Maintenance user account. The Support > Maintenance lets you log into this account and opens a separate shell that you can use to troubleshoot or manage underlying operating system tasks.
The default password for the Maintenance user account is P@ssw0rd (where 0 is a zero). Veritas recommends that you change this password at your earliest convenience.
You can use the passwd command to change this password after you have logged into the Maintenance account.
If you contact Veritas Technical Support to resolve an issue, you may need to provide this password to your support representative.
Note:
If you change this password and then run the FactoryReset command, this password is reset to the initial default value.
EXAMPLES
Run the following command to log into the Maintenance user shell:
abc123.Support> Maintenance <!--Maintenance Mode--!> maintenance's password: maintenance-!>
Once you have accessed the Maintenance user shell, you can run the following command to log into the root shell:
maintenance-!> elevate abc123:~ #
