Unmanaging a host
Using the License Management Service console, you can unmanage a host if required. Hosts are typically unmanaged for the following reasons:
Server Tier
Support exception
ELA
Decommisioned
Not defined
If a host has entitlements even if it is partial, you cannot unmanage the host. The unmanaged hosts are displayed in the table. In the Entitlement status column, you can view the reason for which the host is unmanaged.
To unmanage a host
- On the License Management Service console, expand License management in the left pane.
- Click License usage.
- In the Host tab, do one of the following:
Select the check box next to the host name to which you want to unmanage, and click Unmanage host in the table heading row.
Click the actions menu (three vertical dots) in the same row of the host, and click Unmanage host.
Select multiple check boxes next to the host name, and click Unmanage host in the table heading row.
Select the check box next to Host in the table heading row to select all the hosts that are displayed on the selected page of the table, and click Unmanage host.
This is useful when you want to unmanage a large number of hosts. Use the filter to select hosts that belong to the same product bundle and platform type.
- Click Unmanage host.
- Select a reason from the drop-down list and click Unmanage.
See Managing hosts.
