Registering the License Management Service product key
After completing the download packages, installation, verification, and configuration operations, you can use any supported web browser to log on to the License Management Service console.
For the first login session, you need to procure the registration key from Veritas Entitlement Management Server (VEMS) and then register the product. Note that for first-time login, only one authentication domain is displayed in the drop-down list.
Note:
Ensure that you take a backup of the license key file (.slf) that is generated during the registration process.
To log on to the License Management Service console
- Open a web browser on a host that has the network connection.
- In the address field of the browser, type the following URL and press Enter.
https://hostname:14161/#/login where, host name is the fully-qualified host name which should not exceed 15 characters length.
For a IPv4 configuration, you can specify the IP address instead of the host name.
- In the Username and Password fields, enter credentials for a valid user.
- Select the Domain and click Sign in.
- Click How to get the registration key? on the Register your product panel.
- Click Generate host lock string > Copy.
The host lock string is copied, however it is not displayed on the console for security reasons.
- To obtain the product key, do one of the following:
If the host has access to public internet, then click Veritas Entitlement Management Server (VEMS) and sign in with your credentials.
If the host does not have access to public internet, then sign in to Veritas Entitlement Management Server (VEMS) from another host using your credentials.
Follow the process on the VEMS portal and save the registration key file.
- Close the How to get the registration key? panel.
- In the Register your product panel, click Browse to locate and upload the registration key file (.slf).
- Click Register. The Setup menu opens.
