About the commands under the Settings view
From the Main > Settings view you can perform the following functions:
Enable or disable Call Home.
Adjust deduplication parameters.
Mange alert settings and email accounts.
Administer the Fibre Transport features.
Configure iSCSI
Change backup image life cycle parameters settings.
Change your user password.
Manage user authorization and authentication.
Administer the SNMP-related settings.
Adjust NetBackup settings.
Configure a media share.
Modify sysctl parameters.
Change the system locale.
The following table summarizes the commands that are available for you to use in the Main > Settings view.

Command | Explanation |
---|---|
Alerts | Enter the Alert view. The Alerts commands let you manage your alerts for Call Home, SNMP, and email notification settings. The following commands are available under the Alerts submenu:

Deduplication | Adjust deduplication parameters. |
FibreTransport | Administer Fibre Transport settings. This command is available only for a primary appliance. |
iSCSI | Configure the iSCSI settings. This applies to configuration H of the NetBackup 5240 appliance. |
LifeCycle | Change backup image life cycle parameters settings. This command is available only for a primary appliance. See Settings > LifeCycle. |
NetBackup | Use this command to do the following:

Notifications | Set and manage a text banner that appears before a user logs on to the appliance. |
Password | Change the administrator's user password on the current host. See Settings > Password. |
Security | Enter into the Security view. From this view you can do the following:

Share | Configure a media share. See Settings > Share. |
Sysctl | Modify your sysctl parameters. |
SystemLocale | Change the system locale of the NetBackup appliance to correctly display, backup, and restore the files and the folders that are named with non-7-bit ASCII characters. For example, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German Umlaut, or French accents. |
