Finding your way around Enterprise Vault Search

Enterprise Vault Search has multiple panes in which you can browse, search, and view content.

What you see in Enterprise Vault Search
Sidebar

The sidebar displays your favorites list, the recent actions that you have taken, and the archives to which you have access.

If you cannot see the sidebar, click Actions at the top right of Enterprise Vault Search and select Show Sidebar.

You can add your most frequently accessed folders and advanced search queries to the favorites list.

You can view and run recently performed actions in the recent list.

The sidebar organizes archives into predefined groups based on archive type, such as Email, File, and SharePoint. Expand a group to see the archives and folders that it contains. if you have access to a lot of archives, you can add the frequently-accessed ones to a custom archive group so that you can quickly find them. You can browse through an archive by selecting a folder in the sidebar.

If you use a folder shortcut file to view an archived folder in Enterprise Vault Search, the sidebar includes a Show folders link that you can use to view the complete folder hierarchy.

See Showing or hiding the sidebar and favorites list.

See Creating and arranging archive groups.

See Adding a frequently used folder to the favorites list.

Location bar

The location bar lets you see your current location and quickly navigate between folders in a hierarchy.

Search pane

The search pane lets you enter search criteria. In a simple search, a list of search suggestions appears when you type text in the search pane.
