This error message may appear because of either of the following reasons:

  • You have not configured your web browser to treat Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site.

  • The Enterprise Vault Search server is not responding.

To find the reason for the error, make sure that your browser is configured to treat Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site. The procedure for this varies from one browser to another, but the following is for Internet Explorer.

To configure Internet Explorer to trust Enterprise Vault Search

  1. Find the Enterprise Vault Search server name.

If you use a mail client such as Outlook, right-click the pane where Enterprise Vault Search should appear and then click Properties. The Address (URL) field should provide the address of Enterprise Vault Search.

If you use a browser, the Enterprise Vault Search server name is in the address bar.

The address is typically as follows:

    https://server_name/EnterpriseVault/search

    For example:

    https://evs.yourcompany.com/EnterpriseVault/search

  2. Open Internet Explorer.
  3. On the Tools menu, click Internet options.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Click Trusted sites, and then click Sites.
  6. Enter the name of the Enterprise Vault Search server, and then click Add. For instance, in the example above, the server name is evs.yourcompany.com.
  7. Close the Trusted sites dialog box, and then close the Internet Options dialog box.

If your browser treats Enterprise Vault Search as a trusted site and you continue to see this error, your Enterprise Vault administrator should be able to resolve the issue.
