Overview of Information Map
The Information Map is a cloud application built on top of the highly available and scalable Information Fabric technology platform. Information Map allows you to visualize the information within your data centers and cloud storage repositories. The application helps you answers questions such as:
Where does my information live?
What is the value of my information?
Who owns the information and who is using it?
What is the age of my information?
Information Map enables you to understand the value and relevance of the information in your data centers and allow you to take action to improve data governance across multiple areas, such as storage, compliance, risk, security and discovery.
The Information Map application currently supports many cloud and on-premises data stores including NetBackup 7.6 or later and compatible NetBackup appliances. The Information Map Agent server collects metadata from various other on-premises and cloud data stores. The metadata is then securely sent to Information Fabric. Once the metadata has been ingested, you can explore it using Information Map and the dashboard views of the application.
