Editing research folders
You can edit research folders by selecting a specific research folder from the parent department.
Note:
You cannot edit research folders from the
node.To edit a research folder
- In the left navigation pane, click Departments.
- Search for the department in which the research folder is located, and select the research folder you want to edit.
- On the action bar, click Edit Folder, and modify the following information as needed.
Research Folder
Name
Type a unique name for the research folder.
Parent department
You cannot change the parent department. Ensure that you have the Perform Ad Hoc Searches permission for the selected department.
Export details
Item ID prefix
Enter the text to use as a prefix for the export number of each item. Use letters to align with legal or company naming conventions if required.
Item ID padding
Enter the number of digits for the export number of each item. The default is 6 digits only.
Output folder
Enter the folder path (location) where you want to store the exported items.
To export items to another computer, specify the UNC path (e.g., \\my_computer\exports).
To export items as a Personal Folder (.pst) file, use an NTFS path (e.g., Z:\exports), as Windows does not support exporting .pst files through a UNC path.
The folder path length can be a maximum of 100 characters.
- Click Save.
