Configuring Microsoft Power BI Templates for Reporting APIs

To configure Microsoft Power BI Templates for Reporting APIs

  1. In the left navigation pane of Veritas Surveillance console, select Configuration > Reporting Endpoint tab.
  2. Click Power BI Templates to download the PowerBITemplates.zip file that contains Power BI templates.
  3. Open the template of the Reporting API that you intend to configure.

    Currently, the following templates are available for use.

    • TEMPLATE - User Roles

    • TEMPLATE - Departments, Users, Roles, Labels

    • TEMPLATE - Item Metrics

    • TEMPLATE - Reviewer Mapping

    • TEMPLATE - Searches

    • TEMPLATE- Evidence Of Review - Submit Report Request

    • TEMPLATE- Evidence Of Review - Submit Report Request

    • TEMPLATE- Evidence Of Review By Monitored Employee - View Report Data

    • TEMPLATE- Evidence Of Review By Department - View Report Data

    • TEMPLATE- Item Classification Metrics - Submit Report Request

    • TEMPLATE- Item Classification Metrics - View Report Data

  4. Specify the required input, and click Load.

    The application prompts you several times to provide appropriate credentials when querying Reporting API for each report.

  5. Select the Basic Authentication mechanism to access Reporting API.

  6. Wait while Microsoft Power BI Desktop uses the provided filter values to generate queries and fetch OData reports from the specified Veritas Surveillance Server. This process may take some time depending on the amount of data being retrieved from the server.

    Upon successful processing, the application displays a report for the retrieved data of the corresponding API endpoint. To help you better visualize and understand the API Endpoint reports, refer to sample images of reports.
