Deleting departments
When a department is no longer required, it can be deleted along with all its associated objects, such as child departments, searches, research folders, and hotwords. The users with the Delete Department permission at the application level can delete any department. However, the users with the Delete Department permission at the department level can only delete the departments they have been granted access to.
To delete a department
- In the left navigation pane, click Departments.
- Search for and select one or more departments that you want to delete. See Searching departments.
To select multiple adjacent departments, hold the Shift key while selecting the first and the last department in the range.
To select multiple non-adjacent departments, hold the Ctrl key while selecting the required departments.
- On the action bar, click Delete Department or press Alt + M.
The application prompts you to confirm that you want to perform the operation, as shown in the sample image below.
- Click Confirm Deletion on the confirmation message box.
