Configuring the KMS server
You can configure the Key Management Service (KMS) server to communicate with Veritas Access. The KMS server activates computers on a local network, thus eliminating the need for individual computers to connect to Microsoft.
The KMS server requires an SSL key-pair (SSL certificate and the KMS server's public key) for communicating with Veritas Access.
To provide the client's SSL key and certificate
- Settings > Service Management > Key Management service (KMS): Click Provide Key & Certificates.
- Select Generate self-signed client key and certificate, and click Next.
- Browse to the location of the downloaded SSL public key, and click Next.
- View the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
To configure the KMS server
- Prerequisites:
Provide the client's SSL key and certificate.
- Settings > Service Management > Key Management service (KMS): Click Configure KMS Server.
- Provide the KMS server's IP address.
- Provide the port number for the KMS server.
- View the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
