Adding a share
There are two ways to create a share:
Policy-based templates - automated process for share creation. Policy templates implicitly create a file system, set up replication, and encrypt data as needed.
File system based - manual process of creating a file system.
You can create a share for a file system using one or more of the following provisioning types:
Storage for NFS
Storage for CIFS
S3 Storage for NetBackup
Storage for Enterprise Vault
To add a share (file system based)
- Select the file system from the list.
- To share at the directory level rather than the entire file system, specify the directory path.
- Select the provisioning type and specify the appropriate sharing options.
See NFS protocol options.
- Provision Storage to share the same file system to a different client with different options, or in some cases a different protocol.
- Check the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task to add the share.
To add a share (policy-based template)
- Prerequisites:
Activate a policy.
- In the Veritas Access application, do one of the following:
- From Provisioning Option, select a provisioning type.
- From Storage Options, Storage Options, select Policy.
- From Select policy, select an activated policy.
- Enter the required information.
- Check the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
