Connecting a storage shelf to an appliance that already has three operating shelves
To connect a storage shelf to an appliance that already has three operating shelves
- Remove the connector from the port that is marked with a red X.
- Reconnect the cable to the port that is marked with a green circle.
- Connect the two new SAS-3 cables that ship with each storage shelf, as shown.
- Connect power cords between the new storage shelf and separate Power Distribution Units (PCUs) in the rack.
- Turn on the new storage shelf. Let the shelf initialize for a few minutes.
- Verify that the new shelf functions correctly.
