NetBackup status code: 8306
Explanation: The backup image that is used for secondary operations such as restore, duplication, import, verify, and others, has data-in-transit encryption (DTE) mode enabled. Therefore NetBackup tries to encrypt the data. However, the media server version is older than 9.1 and as a result, the given operation fails.
Recommended Action: Perform one of the following as appropriate:
Upgrade the NetBackup media server to a version that supports data-in-transit encryption.
Change the configuration to select the media server which supports data-in-transit encryption for performing NetBackup operations.
Change the data-in-transit encryption (DTE) mode of the given backup image to Off using the following command:
bpimage -update -image_dtemode Off -id <backup_id>
Set DTE_IGNORE_IMAGE_MODE = WHERE_UNSUPPORTED in the NetBackup configuration file of the primary server or the media server.
For option 3 and option 4, DTE is disabled while the job is performed.
For more information, refer to the Configuring data-in-transit encryption section in the NetBackup Security and Encryption Guide.
