Editing Backup Exec server configurations

Edit Configuration lets you configure Backup Exec to set automatic responses to several media alerts. To use this option you must also set the option Automatically clear after on the Backup Exec Alert Configuration dialog box.

See Edit configuration options.

The following media alerts can be configured to use automatic responses:

  • Media Overwrite

  • Media Remove

  • Media Insert

  • Library Insert

You can also change the time that is required for a Backup Exec server to release a tape drive before it attempts to acquire another tape drive. In addition, you can also change the amount of time that the Backup Exec server keeps possession of a tape drive after a job completes.
