Change service account options

You can reconfigure the credentials that are required for a service account by changing the options the following options.

See Changing service accounts.

Item

Description

Backup Exec Servers

Displays the name of the Backup Exec server on which you want to change the service account.

Account

Indicates the user account that is designated for the Backup Exec services.

The account must previously exist and be a member of the Administrators or Backup Operators groups.

The account must also be assigned the following rights on all destination servers:

  • Log on as a service

  • Act as part of the operating system

  • Create a token object

  • Manage auditing and security log

  • Backup files and directories

  • Restore files and directories

Password

Indicates the password that is used to access the service account.

Confirm Password

Confirms the password that you entered in the Password field.

Start type

Lets you change the startup behavior of the service account.

The following choices are available:

  • Automatic

  • Manual

  • Disabled
