BE Diagnostics

Runs the BE Diagnostics utility. The results are written to a text file, bediag.txt.

The text file includes useful configuration information for the computer, such as the following:

  • Account groups, account privileges, and environment settings.

  • Backup Exec software version and registry information, Backup Exec Agent listing, and Windows version information.

The text file also gives you SCSI hardware configuration, SQL Server information, Driver services information, and Windows Services information.

  • File server information, supported shared directories, and Windows sockets information.

If you call technical support, they may request that you to run BE Diagnostics and provide them with the results. Technical support can use the results of this utility to pinpoint your problem and quickly solve it.
