Windows compiler and security requirements for NetBackup 10.4 and later installation and upgrade

NetBackup 10.4 and later for Windows uses the Visual Studio 2022 compiler and the Windows 11 Software Development Kit (SDK). The installation and the upgrade process use Microsoft redistributable utilities to install Visual Studio 2022 C++ run-time libraries on Windows hosts where they are not already installed. The redistributable utilities can alter Windows hosts such that a restart is required. Veritas recommends that you install Visual Studio 2022 C++ run-time libraries on Windows hosts independently of NetBackup installation or upgrade, within a maintenance window where you can safely perform restarts.
