About Access Appliance as a NetBackup client
Access Appliance is integrated with Veritas NetBackup so that a NetBackup administrator can back up your Access Appliance file systems to NetBackup primary or media servers and retain the data as per your company policy. Once data is backed up, a storage administrator can delete unwanted data from Access Appliance. The NetBackup primary and media servers that run on separate computers from Access Appliance are licensed separately from Access Appliance.
You can configure NetBackup domain information using the command-line interface (CLI)
The Veritas Access command-line interface has a dedicated Backup> menu. From the Backup> menu, register the NetBackup client with the NetBackup domain. Information is saved in the bp.conf
file.
See Configuring Access Appliance for NetBackup client.
Consolidating storage reduces the administrative overhead of backing up and restoring many separate file systems. Critical file data can be backed up and restored through the NetBackup client on Access Appliance.
