Updating a Monitoring database manually

Run the Monitoring Configuration Utility with the /reuse option to update a Monitoring database to recognize a new Enterprise Vault site that has been added to an existing Enterprise Vault Directory.

To update a Monitoring database manually

  1. Open a command prompt window on the Enterprise Vault server and navigate to the Enterprise Vault installation folder.
  2. Enter the following command on a single line:

    MonitoringConfigUtility /reuse DirectoryDB_SQLServer MonitoringDB_SQLServer Start_Immediately Vault_Version SiteEntryId SQL_DataFileFolder SQL_LogFileFolder LogFile

where the variables are the same as those for creating the database manually. See Creating a Monitoring database manually .

    Note:

When you use the /reuse option, the values of SQL_DataFileFolder and SQL_LogFileFolder are ignored, but you need to provide a dummy value, such as "dummy" for both of these variables.

The following example shows a command to update the Monitoring database on a system with the same settings as those in the example for creating a Monitoring database manually.
