Troubleshooting RHEL 9 upgrade issue
The Troubleshooting RHEL 9 upgrade issue explains some useful troubleshooting steps:
If you encounter a message like Please install the missing required packages <package name> or see error 139 in the installation logs while upgrading to RHEL 9, and you have already installed the required package, follow these steps:
Open command prompt and run the following command:
package-cleanup --dupes
If you are asked to download and install the missing package, follow the instructions and then resume the upgrade process. If the pop-up does not appear, navigate back to the upgrade page and continue the process.
If this error persists, return to the command prompt and run following commands:
sudo yum clean all
sudo rpm --rebuilddb
sudo yum update
sudo yum list installed
After running all the commands, reboot the system and retry the installation.
