About managing data
The storage devices in your environment may accumulate data that is orphan or has not been accessed for a long time. A large amount of such data on your storage devices can consume valuable storage space. Data Insight enables you to reclaim storage space occupied by inactive data. You can manage the inactive data directly from the Data Insight Management Console in the following ways:
Archive data using Veritas Enterprise Vault.

Note:
Data Insight does not support archive actions for SharePoint Online, Microsoft OneDrive, and Amazon S3.
Manage data by invoking custom scripts.

Set MIP labels

Delete static or orphan files natively from the Workspace and Reports in the Data Insight user interface. You can enable the Delete functionality from > > > .
Note:
Data Insight supports delete actions for only CIFS paths, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft OneDrive, .
Data Insight recommends that when you invoke Delete, set MIP label, Archive or custom actions on large number of files, make sure you create requests in smaller chunks for smooth execution. For example, if you want to create custom action for 500K files, rather that creating a single request, create 5 custom actions of 100K files each.
Note:
Set MIP is not supported for Box, OneDrive, SharePoint, Amazon S3, and NFS data sources. Delete action is not supported for Box, Amazon S3, and NFS data sources.
