Disabling a backup policy
You can disable a backup policy using one of two methods. You can remove the backup policy entirely from each client computer in the resource target. Or, you can deactivate the backup policy on client computers so recovery points are not created. In such cases, you can reactivate the backup later when you want recovery point creation to resume.
To disable a backup policy on resource targets
- On the Veritas System Recovery 18 Management Solution Manage Tasks tab, in the left pane, click Backup Policies.
- In the middle panel, select a backup policy name.
- On the toolbar, in the middle panel, click Edit.
- Click Advanced Options, uncheck Active Backup Policy, and then click Apply.
This deactivates the backup policy on client computers. The policy, however, remains on client computers.
- Click Save changes.
See Editing the schedule of a backup policy.
