- Getting help
Error message is displayed when the CIFS server is restarted if shares are already configured and the clustering mode is changed to ctdb
If the clustering mode is changed to ctdb and the CIFS server is restarted when there are existing shares configured on the cluster, the following error messages is displayed:
Exporting CIFS filesystem : cifsshare1 ..Access Appliance cifs ERROR V-493-10-5579 Could not bring share online. Try recreating share or restart CIFS server.
While starting the CIFS services, the shares configuration is refreshed and an attempt is made to bring the shares online. The shares have a dependency on the CIFS server and the shares cannot come online until the CIFS services come online first. As the CIFS services are not online completely, the error message gets displayed. When the CIFS services come up, the shares are also expected to come up on their own because of the dependency between these two. The shares come online after the cifs server start command completes This has no impact on any functionality.
