Creating portal super users
A super user (
) was automatically created during your initial installation. To learn about the privileges of a super user refer to Providing Portal Access and User Authentication.For security purposes, you cannot add additional super users through the Portal. To add a new super user requires that you log on to the Oracle database server.
To create a super user account:
- Create a new user, or identify an existing user that requires super user privileges and note the user ID.
To find user ID, run the findUser utility:
On Linux:
# /opt/aptare/utils/findUser.sh all
On Wndows:
# cd C:\opt\aptare\utils # findUser.bat all
- On the Oracle database server (typically the Portal servr), login as aptare user.
- Start sqlplus and login to the database using this command:
sqlplus portal/portalPassword@scdb UPDATE ptl_user SET user_type=3 where ldap_id='<USER_ID>'; Commit;
