NetBackup Virtual Appliance as backup host: component overview
As Figure: NetBackup for VMware with appliance as backup host shows, the appliance can operate as the VMware backup host. A separate Windows backup host is not required.
The appliance as backup host can also run the NetBackup media server and master server.
