About policies for long-term data retention

A NetBackup administrator can store NetBackup backup images on Access Appliance for long-term data retention.

Policy

Description

Veritas Data Deduplication

Provides the storage destination, which is used by the NetBackup deduplication engine. The backed-up deduplicated data is highly available. Also, this policy optionally provides protection against device or node failures.

LTR On-Premises

Enables you to save NetBackup images on an on-premises storage. The NetBackup images are highly available. This policy optionally enables protection against device or node failures.

LTR On-Premises + Cloud

Enables you to save NetBackup images on multiple storage tiers using on-premises and cloud storage. You can use this policy to move the NetBackup backed-up images to the cloud that are not modified over a specified period of time. On-premises backup-images are highly available. This policy optionally enables protection against device or node failures.
