NetBackup for VMware operational notes
Starting with NetBackup 10.5, the host that is used for credential validation and asset discovery of a VMware server needs to be at version 10.5. Otherwise, the discovery fails. By default, this value is the primary server. If you continue to use the primary server, no changes are needed.
Following an upgrade NetBackup 10.5, only NetBackup administrators can view VMware jobs in the Activity monitor that were performed before the upgrade. Jobs that are initiated after the upgrade are available to users based on the RBAC permissions that are granted to them.
After an upgrade to NetBackup 10.5, you must perform a new discovery of the VMware servers before you can create an RBAC role to manage the following asset types:
Datacenter assets in the vSphere (vCenter) object hierarchy
VMs in the VMware Cloud Director object hierarchy
If you want to create roles to manage a specific VMware server, a new discovery of the VMware servers is not required.
