Oracle Cloud Infrastructure support for cloud workloads
NetBackup now provides the capability to back up and restore virtual machines and Oracle applications running on Linux, within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Here are the supported features in this release:
VM-based deployment of NetBackup Snapshot Manager in OCI on Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL).
A dedicated NetBackup Snapshot Manager plug-in for discovering assets and automating protection tasks in OCI. The plug-in is compatible with API-keys and IAM-based source accounts.
You can capture snapshots of VMs and Oracle applications running on Linux, and subsequently restore them from the captured snapshots.
NetBackup provides backup from snapshot and restore from backup copies for the VMs.
Cloud Intelligent Policies and RBAC support for OCI VMs.
Use the Linux flexsnap agent to take application-consistent snapshots.
For more information, see the NetBackup Web UI Cloud Administrator's Guide and the NetBackup Snapshot Manager for Cloud Install and Upgrade Guide.
