Changing the authentication method of existing Cloud object store accounts on Ceph may fail
Changing the authentication method of existing Cloud object store accounts on Ceph may fail with the message:
Credential validation failed. Provide the correct Cloud account name and credentials.
For a Cloud object store account on Ceph that uses Access key authentication, this error appears if you change the authentication method to Security token service-based authentication. After this update, credential validation, discovery, and backups may fail.
Workaround:
Do one of the following actions:
Create a new account with a new name. Configure it to use the Security token service-based Assume role access on Ceph.
To update an old account, note the details of the existing account, and then delete the old account. Next, create a new account with the same name and use the Security token service-based access method.
Note:
This issue affects only the Ceph cloud provider. You can still update other providers, like Amazon and AWS GovCloud, to use the Security token service-based access method.
