Status & Success Rate > Success Rate > Advanced Success Rate report
This report uses the advanced success or the failure calculation logic around the notion of first, all and last job. It collects all information around both successes and failures and presents the results that are grouped by (day or month) timeframe for either client or the job success rate. Client success rate is a count of successful clients where all policies that are defined to the client must be successful to declare the client successful. Thus a client is either 0% or 100% and no intermediate state. Job success rate is derived from all jobs and separated out by first, all and last and a specific client can have a job success rate that can range between 0% and 100%. End-user and customer typically get Last Job Success for job and client whereas backup architects and administrators examine all three. These reports work well with views and can be reported on at any level with robust filtering capabilities.
This report simply aggregates jobs according to success rate and shows these across a timeline. It can be reported on against views and view levels, along with any of the key backup infrastructure components (master server etc) and attributes (policy, policy, job etc). Filtering is available on all components and attributes. The primary use case of the report is verification of trends and the days that are exception to the norm. The report is highly effective for presenting long-term tabular data on one of the most fundamental metrics of managing a backup operation.

The following table shows the filters for Advanced Success Rate report and how you can use these filters to view specific data in the report.
Filter | Column | Description |
---|---|---|
View | Select a view to show data for the selected view in the report. By default All My Views is selected. | |
Master Server | Master Server | Select one or more master servers to view data for the selected master servers in the report. All master servers that are added to the OpsCenter console are shown in the Value dropdown list. |
Policy | Policy Name | Select one or more policy names to view data for the selected policies. |
Job | Job Type Status Code | You can select one or more job types like Archive, Backup, Restore etc. to view data for the selected job types. By default, Backup jobs are shown in the report. Select one or more status codes to view data for the selected status codes. |
Success Rate | Aggregation Level Full Days Full Window Parameter Metric Type Full for Duration of (In Hours) Increment Days Increment Window Parameter Increment for Duration of (In Hours) Consider Partially Successful Job as Successful | Select Aggregation Level to consider the kind of jobs for the specified time frame. For example, if you select First Job Success Rate then the report shows only the first job for the combination of master, client, policy, and schedule. Select Full Days to specify the list of days to be considered for Full backups. Select Full Window Parameter to specify the start time for the full backup window. Select Metric Type to calculate the success rate based on clients or jobs. Select Full for Duration of (In Hours) to calculate the end time for the incremental backup window. Backup window end time is equal to the duration from the start time of the backup window. Select Increment Days to specify the list of days to be considered for Incremental backups. Select Increment Window Parameter to specify the start time for the incremental backup window. Select Increment for Duration of (In Hours) to calculate the end time for the incremental backup window. Backup window end time is equal to the duration from the start time of the backup window. Select Count Partially Successful Job as Successful to count partially successful jobs as successful while calculating the Success Rate. |
Example of filter usage: Run the Advanced Success Rate report for a one week timeframe and for a single master server.
The default Relative Timeframe is now changed to Previous 15 days. Earlier the report showed data for the Previous 14 days by default.
