Access 3360 compute node rear panel

The rear panel of the appliance compute node has several access ports and other features, which are displayed in the following figure. The rear panel of the Veritas Access 3360 Appliance contains three PCIe riser card assemblies. PCIe riser card assemblies 1 and 2 each support three standard PCIe cards, while PCIe riser card assembly 3 is not utilized

Table: Compute node rear panel features and connectors

Number

Function

1,10

Power Supply 1 and Power Supply 2 - Dual, redundant, and hot-swappable power supply modules

2

DB-15 VGA monitor connector

3

IPMI port - An external RJ45 port used for appliance remote management purposes

4

Serial port - Serial connection for Veritas Technical Support use only

5

eth0/NIC1

A 10/1 Gbps port copper connector that is reserved for use during the initial configuration of the 3360 Appliance

Note:

Veritas does not support forming a NIC bond using eth0/NIC1 with other eth/NIC ports.

6

eth1/NIC2

A 10/1 Gbps port copper connector

7

eth2/NIC3

A 10/1 Gbps port copper connector

For a two-node configuration, the eth2 ports on each of the 3360 Appliance compute nodes attach to each other using straight through or cross-over cables. For example, eth2 on first compute node connects to eth2 of the second compute node.

For a single-node 3360 configuration, connect eth2 to eth3 on the same compute node.

8

eth3/NIC4

A 10/1 Gbps port copper connector

For a two-node configuration, the eth3 ports on each of the 3360 Appliance compute nodes attach to each other using straight through or cross-over cables. For example, eth3 on first compute node connects to eth3 of the second compute node.

For a single-node configuration, connect eth2 to eth3 on the same compute node.

9

Three stacked USB 3.0 Type A serial ports for general use

11

PCIe riser assembly 3 *

(empty)

* 3360 Appliance compute nodes do not contain PCIe riser cards in PCI riser assembly 3.
