Setting up Auto Image Replication (AIR) between two Access Appliances which have secure communication enabled
You can set up AIR between two Access appliances which have secure communication enabled.
Perform the following steps on the AIR source and target Access Appliance deduplication servers when secure communication is enabled:
Generate certificates using the remote NetBackup primary as CA. Use the setting certificate get-CA-certificate command in the MSDP restricted shell to get the CA certificate of the remote NetBackup primary server.
Create a host ID-based certificate using the setting certificate get-certificate command in the MSDP restricted shell.
This needs to be done on both the Access clusters participating in the AIR workflow.
You can now set up trust between the NetBackup domains and set up AIR.
See Support for NetBackup Auto Image Replication.
For detailed steps on setting up trust, see the NetBackup™ Deduplication Guide on SORT.
Note:
Access Appliance 8.2 release supports only NetBackup CA for MSDP secure communication. External CA in MSDP is not supported.
