Manual download of the aptare.jar file
Use the following procedure to manually update your Data Collector:
Use the downloadlib utility to manually download the
aptare.jar
file. Note that this utility must be run with administrative privileges.Windows: <Home>\mbs\bin\downloadlib.bat
Linux: <Home>/mbs/bin/downloadlib.sh
Note:
From NetBackup IT Analytics version 11.2 onwards,
aptare.jar
signing and verification enhancement has been added in Data Collector upgrade process. Data collector allowsaptare.jar
upgrade/downgrade only when it is signed using the code signing certificate. Ifdownloadlib.bat
(Windows) ordownloadlib.sh
(Linux) is used to downgrade theaptare.jar
in the scenario where the Data Collector is on version 11.2 or later and the portal is on version lower than 11.2, the downgrade will fail because the portal has an unsigned jar. Hence, pass the -skipVerification parameter to thedownloadlib.bat
ordownloadlib.sh
utility to skip the verification. If you run the downloadlib utility and you get the following message, it indicates that the restore failed or is in progress: Restore has been running for more than 10 minutes, unable to proceed with collector upgrade.
To proceed, delete the restore.txt file and re-run downloadlib.
Windows: <Home>\upgrade\restore.txt
Linux: <Home>/upgrade/restore.txt
