Over-Provisioned LUNs
Explore your data center using customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. Use Search to find reports, templates and dashboards across the portal.
Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. This report is located here:
When you execute this report, you can select the Threshold for the list that will be displayed. Typically, you'll be interested in the Low or Warning thresholds. Since this report shows over-provisioning, the list will show usage that has not reached the threshold.
Table: Over-Provisioned LUNs
Column name | Description |
---|---|
Name |
The LUN number/ID drills down to the LUN Details report. |
As of |
This date indicates when the LUN became over-provisioned. |
High-Water Mark (Projected) |
The projected high-water mark represents the maximum usage, based on historical data. Note that this size may represent temporary usage. |
Host Name |
Click on a host name to launch the Host Utilization Detail report. See Host Utilization Detail . |
Capacity |
The total capacity (used and unused) of the LUN. |
Current Usage |
Amount of storage currently used. |
Available |
Capacity - Current Usage. |
Array |
The array to which the LUN belongs. |
Mount Point |
Location of the filesystem. |
Raw Filesystem |
Explicit disk location of the LUN. |
Host Storage Domain |
The name of the host storage domain, a logical group of LUNs that can be accessed by multiple hosts through the same physical storage port, with each host accessing its unique LUN. For security purposes, LUN masking is also coupled with this capability. A host storage domain is Hitachi's name for multi-hosted storage capability. |
iGroup |
The iGroup associated with the LUN |
Volume Group |
The logical collection or volume group to which the volume belongs. |
Threshold |
A LUN is determined to be at risk when this tolerance threshold is crossed. The default thresholds are set at: Low = 30%; Warning = 70%; Critical = 90%. To modify thresholds for a particular LUN, go to . |
