Stopping the legacy SMTP archiving solution

Finally, you can stop the legacy solution from receiving email, and remove any unwanted FSA configuration.

To stop the legacy SMTP archiving solution

  1. On all computers that hosted the legacy SMTP archiving component, open Services.msc and stop the Windows SMTP Service. This ensures that the legacy solution does not receive any more SMTP email. SMTP email sent to the SMTP routing address will be processed by the new SMTP Archiving components.
  2. On the Enterprise Vault server which manages File System Archiving for the legacy solution, open the Enterprise Vault Administration Console. In the Targets container, under File Servers, remove the volume targets that were used for the legacy solution.
  3. If no other File System Archiving targets are configured, you can delete the File System Archiving task.
