Host matching identifier
Host Matching Identifier is introduced for service providers managing multiple customers through a single NetBackup IT Analytics domain by creating customer-specific hosts. It helps to differentiate data collection from hosts with identical host names. The ability to enable or maintain Host Matching Identification on the Portal is restricted to the Super User or Administrator, with the option to manually grant access to specific users or user groups in the NetBackup IT Analytics Portal. To enable the feature, you must add the system-level parameter portal.hostMatchingIdentifier.enabled
under Admin tab > Advanced > System Configuration > Custom Parameters and set its value to True.
Also, a new column Inventory view. You can add this column to the report through the list displayed for the reports.
has been added to the reports on Hosts and Backup Servers visible through theNote that adding or updating a Host Matching Identifier can result in duplicate host entries. Once a Host Matching Identifier is added to an Data Collector policy, the identifier text becomes an integral part of the host matching process and changing the identifier post collections results in creation of more hosts with the new identifier. Given this complexity and the expertise required to use this feature, the feature is by default disabled in the NetBackup IT Analytics Portal.
For more information, see the Host matching identification in the NetBackup IT Analytics System Administrator Guide.
