TMG configuration

If you are already familiar with the TMG Management Console, skip this section and go to the section "TMG Configuration for OWA 2013".

Open the Forefront TMG Management Console. Select the Forefront TMG (server_name) node, and press the asterisk (*) key to expand all nodes within the management tree:

Note that the TMG server does not apply configuration settings until you click Apply at the top of the Management Console. Similarly, if any incorrect changes are made you can click Discard. You can see if any changes are waiting to be applied because the buttons are visible at the top of the Management Console:

You can also Export/Back up configuration settings using the Action menu items. We recommend that you carry out these actions regularly.

Each time changes are made and you apply them, you can supply a change description. This description is useful if you want to roll back to a previous change set:

When you click Apply, the following dialog appears. Click OK:

The TMG server runs a number of services, as follows:

If at any time you want to disable the functionality of the TMG, for example to test certain client connectivity, you can stop the TMG Firewall service.
