About the NetBackup Virtual Appliance primary server role

In this role, the NetBackup Virtual Appliance operates as dedicated NetBackup primary server. You configure and use this appliance much like you would use a regular NetBackup primary server with no attached storage.

This appliance role provides a simplified administrative interface for the local network and storage management. However, the majority of NetBackup administration such as backup management must be performed through the traditional NetBackup Administration Console.

For complete NetBackup administration information, see the NetBackup Administrator's Guide for UNIX and Linux, Volume I and Volume II.

See About the NetBackup Virtual Appliance combined primary and media server role.
