Virtual machine backups can be initiated from a NetBackup policy. You can start the backup manually from a policy, or have it run automatically according to a schedule that is defined in the policy.
To create the policy, you can use the NetBackup web UI.
See Creating a Hyper-V policy.
To back up a virtual machine manually from an existing policy
- Open the NetBackup web UI.
- On the left, click Protection > Policies.
- Select the policy.
- Click Manual backup.
- Select the type of schedule for the backup.
- Select the clients (virtual machines) to back up.
- Click Backup to start the backup.
- To watch the backup progress, click Activity monitor.
